Reporting Point for Social Safety and Integrity

Are you experiencing inappropriate behaviour or a breach of integrity? It may help to seek advice, even if you are not yet entirely sure what exactly is going on. Depending on the type of support you need, there are several places you can turn to. The Reporting Point will guide you.

Support for staff

• Discuss the situation with your manager. 
• Contact a confidential adviser. At the UvA, you can choose from 25 confidential advisers who can listen to you and help you consider your options.
• Is it a structural problem. Contact the Ombudsperson.
• Do you have questions about employment conditions, social security or (potential) conflicts? The Officer for Individual Legal Status provides legal advice and support.
• Would you like to submit a formal complaint? You can do so through the Complaints Committee. A confidential adviser can support you in this process.
• Do you suspect a wrongdoing involving a legal violation or a threat to the public interest? For more information, please visit: Whistleblowing.
• Do you suspect a breach of academic integrity? Contact a confidential adviser for academic integrity. They can provide advice, mediate and, where necessary, support you in submitting a complaint to the Scientific Integrity Committee.
• UvA researchers who experience threats or intimidation can take various steps, depending on their situation.

Support for students

Preventing and addressing undesirable behaviour

What may seem harmless to one person can feel transgressive to another. The UvA Code of Conduct describes how we wish to interact with each other.

We offer training courses and workshops on recognising and addressing undesirable behaviour, both in yourself and in others. Training is available for both staff and students.
