The UvA aims to be an open and socially safe environment where everyone feels seen, heard and respected. Nevertheless, situations may arise in which someone experiences undesirable behaviour, such as bullying, discrimination, sexually inappropriate behaviour, aggression, intimidation, stalking or integrity violations. Read about the support available to you in these situations, also if you are an external PhD candidate.

Support for PhD candidates

If you are confronted with undesirable behaviour, there are several places you can turn to for support.

Please note that if you are a PhD candidate who is not employed by the UvA, you cannot make use of:

  • the Officer for Individual Legal Status Officer;
  • occupational social work;
  • the occupational physician.
