The power of the D-ITP consortium lies in the scientific excellence of its contributing scientists. To further strengthen the present level, a concise and dedicated talent program will be put in place, aimed at enrolling the best people on levels varying from undergraduate students to visiting top senior professors. In general, all staff hired within the D-ITP research program will be formally appointed at one of the applicant universities.

Background

An important asset of the D-ITP are six newly created tenure track positions, two at each university.

To systematically stimulate the collaboration between the three theoretical physics institutes, all new tenure track faculty members will be required to spend one day per week at one of the other two institutes, with the formal appointment at the main university. The expertise strived for with these positions is tuned such as to both strengthen the three institutes in a few specific areas, and to connect the various research (sub)themes. The tenure track faculty should act as bridges, both between themes and between institutes.
