    Manager Institute of Physics

    With a background in physics (PhD VU biophysics, 2008), I am responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Institute of Physics, both within the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam, and in a local (in particular Amsterdam Science Park and with the Vrije Universiteit) and national context. As member of the IoP directorate, I provide strategic advice to the scientific director and the scientific staff on all relevant policies, e.g. research, HR, funding, valorization, external (academic and industrial) partnerships, lab safety and organization, PR/outreach/communication. Other responsibilities include:
    - head of IoP support staff teams (administrative, communication/outreach, technical support);
    - embedded business developer in UvA’s tech-transfer office Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA);
    - project leader for Amsterdam Physics Research and Innovation Labs (APRIL), a 3M€ physics-oriented valorization program within the IXAnext program funded by the City of Amsterdam (since 2016).
