Metamaterials 2026 was the twentieth edition of the International Congress on Artificial Materials for Novel Wave Phenomena. The conference took place from 31 August to 3 September in New York City.
During the conference, four prizes were awarded for posters and papers presented there, sponsored by the American Physical Society. The paper prizes were awarded in four categories: Applied, Theory and Experiments. The prize winners received a certificate and a $250 cash prize.
Charly Bolhuis was awarded the APS Best Theoretical Paper award for the paper The local density of optical states in absorbing inhomogeneous media.
Bernardo Dias received the APS Best Applied Paper award for the paper All-optical tunable analog computation using 2D materials.
