Nikhef is the National Institute for Subatomic Physics. The research is aimed at particle and astroparticle physics. Nikhef employs over 200 people. These are scientists with permanent and temporary contracts, PhDs, technicians and support staff. They mainly work at Nikhef in Amsterdam but they can also be attached to the universities in Amsterdam, Nijmegen or Utrecht.
