For the third year in a row the IoP PhD/PD symposium was held, downtown in the UvA's Bungehuis. Several PhD students and Postdocs enthusiastically presented their research in front of IoP colleagues from all disciplines. In this way, besides getting familiar with the work that everybody is doing, a breeding ground for interesting questions and conversations was present which hopefully can contribute to original theories and experimental procedures.

Shayne Bennetts made sure we will not forget the importance of building a continous atom laser and the excitement that comes along with it! Thanks Shayne, and the prize of "best presentation" is well deserved. Also Stan Bentvelsen, who gave an excellent and amusing invited talk at the end of the day, was able to get everybody passioned for the work that Nikhef is performing. Thank you Stan and all others that participated in this symposium!
