Studying lepton flavour violation

28Nov2017 12:00 - 13:00

PhD defence ceremony

The theory known as the Standard Model successfully describes the elementary particles and their interactions. Contrary to the original formulation of the Standard Model, the observations of neutrino oscillations implies that neutrinos are massive particles and can change from one flavour (electron, muon or tau neutrino) to another. Ivan Angelozzi studies this process, known as lepton flavour violation.

I. Angelozzi: In Pursuit of Lepton Flavour Violation. A search for the τ -> μγγ decay with ATLAS at √s = 8 TeV.
