Vote for Jurn or Bert as best ‘storytellers of science ’

UvA-researchers Jurn Heinen and Bert Verknocke are taking part in the national finals of FameLab. In this competition young scientists take up the challenge to be crowned the best ambassador of science. Part of the competition is the audience award from the NTR broadcasting company, for which you can bring out your vote as well. Watch the videos of the twelve finalists en pick your favourite candidate.

Earlier this year, the first Amsterdam heat of FameLab was organised by the UvA and VU science faculties. Jurn Heinen (UvA-HIMS) and Bert Verknocke (UvA-IoP) emerged victoriously. This won them a 2-day masterclass in science communication and a spot in the national finals on 22 April, where they will compete with ten others. On the NTR 'Kennis van Nu' ('Knowledge Today') website Bert, Jurn and the other candidates are introduced (in Dutch).

The NTR Audience Award

You can cast your vote for your favourite candidate up until one day prior to the national finals. The winner will be be chosen in two equally weighing voting rounds. The second round of voting takes place at the final on Friday 22 April. The winner, who will be offered an internship with the science tv-programme De Kennis van Nu, will be chosen based on the average of both rounds.

Attend the finals

Want to attend the finals live? There are still places available. The finals take place on Friday 22 April in the Academy Building in Utrecht, The programme starts at 18:00 and ends around 21:00.
