For the second year in a row the IoP symposium for PhD's and Postdocs was held. Again, lively talks suited for the broad audience of physicist from all possible UvA fields, were enthusiastically presented. On top of this, around 20 students took this opportunity to present their work during a poster session. Future will tell whether the coming together of several disciplines will, besides strengthening the bonding in the IoP, result in out of the box  theories and experimental procedures
