Royal Decoration for Prof. Anne Kox
On Friday the 25th April, Anne Kox, professor of the History of Physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Amsterdam, was honoured with a Royal Decoration.
Kox was appointed ‘Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau’ for his relentless efforts to put the research field History of Physics in the spotlight, not only in the Netherlands, but worldwide. His commitment ensured that a large number of important sciencific archives, including that of Nobel Prize winning physicist Pieter Zeeman, were preserved.
Kox was presented with the Royal Decoration by the mayor of Amsterdam, Eberhard van der Laan, alongside fellow scientists Anne Baker and Ries Sieswerda.
